Hi Jessica, The letter looks great. The only things I might change is add the word “to” in the second sentence: ….., not only to you, also to our volunteers and our local cycling community….. Also, it says “send a pic”. How about “send your pics”? Please let me know when the letters and/or emails are actually sent to registrants, and I’ll post essentially the same information on Facebook. Dear A-100 Riders,
Every year, we look forward to connecting with you at the Assenmacher 100! This year that connection will be different.
We’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the physical A-100 ride on August 16th, due to CoVid-19 considerations. We know that this may be a letdown, not only to you, also our volunteers and our local cycling community, however we believe it is the necessary decision to make. We are saddened not to host this physical event. Our overriding concerns are the well-being, health and safety for our riders and volunteers and our level of uncertainty to ensure those concerns are addressed, having a successful ride, was too great. (Cancellation info below.)
We hope you will join us for our free Assenmacher 100 Virtual Ride (Aug 15th or 16th)! We encourage you to ride your bike in the spirit of the Assenmacher 100! We are having a Virtual Assenmacher 100 on August 15th and/or 16th. There is no charge for this. Go enjoy a ride on the roads, on a trail, wherever (ride any distance)...take a picture before,during or after...stay hydrated and eat well...when you're done, send us a pic from your ride. We will be creating a photo album on the website. Please email any photos of you and your family or friends riding that weekend. You can also email us the number of miles you end up riding. Send emails to webmaster@geneseewanderers.org. We are working on creating a sticker and decal for all registered riders. We hope you'll ride and miss us, we'll be missing you!
Save the date: We are looking forward to seeing you on the 2021 Assenmacher 100- August 15th, 2021.

A-100 Cancellation information: In the event that the GWCC cancels the event prior to midnight of August 1, 2020 a full refund (minus applicable credit card, bank, or registration site fees) will be made to the participant within 30 days. This includes the price of any merchandise purchased at the time of registration. To request a refund, please email ridecoordinator@geneseewanderers.org. In lieu of a full refund participants may request that their registration fees be applied to the 2021 Assenmacher 100 registration (locked in at the 2020 price).
Riders who do not make a choice to defer or cancel by August 15th will have their registration automatically deferred to 2021.
