3 different things to let you know about
Author Last Post
Hello my fellow Wanderers! I hope you are well!

We wanted to make you aware of a few things in order of dates:

1. In my role with LMB, I had the opportunity to learn more about the BLD's Ride For Equity that will come to Flint May 19th as a segment and/or overnight stop for riders on the way to Mackinac from Detroit. As a result I reached out to see how I might be able to help when they are in Flint, as a local cyclist. As a result,  GWCC is sponsoring food for their community conversation that happens following the riders arriving. You can be a ride too! You can ride from Detroit to Flint on the 19th, you can ride from Flint to Saginaw on the  20th, you can do a different segment or you can ride all of it! I am including a link for the event.

Here's the link for the event from LMB's ride calendar: https://lmb.org/ride-calendar/ride-for-equity-2024-05-19/

As I understand it you can do a segment for $80 and that will include transportation back to the location started from that day. For $20 you can ride with the group without transportation back. There is more to it. For included in the $80 registration you get a jersey.

There is a training for this event that started in  April on Belle Isle being put on by the Metro 313 Cyclones Major Taylor group for all skill levels.

2. June 8th is the American Diabetes Association- MI Tour de Cure. GWCC is going to have a team. We are not riding at Domino Farms. That means if you want to be part of the team you can ride wherever you are at and still help the ADA. As a virtual or off-site rider, there is no fundraising minimum. We opted to try this as a way to cross promote their event and the Assenmacher 100. If you'd like to join the GWCC and raise some funds for the ADA you can here:  https://tour-diabetes.donordrive.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.team&teamID=9721

3. The 45th Assenmacher 100 will be Sunday, August 18th and we'd love for you to join us! Come and ride or volunteer. We're super excited... there's a super cool jersey for sale this year! It's an update from the 25th A100.

Order your jersey here:

Contact me to volunteer by replying to this email.

If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

All the best,

Jessica
